WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF TRUTH IN THE WORLD?
This article will address many issues related to what we call truth. Where truth come from? What makes something true? Can we really know the truth ?
What is Knowledge?
Knowledge refers to facts, information and the reality of things. Things as they are. Knowledge is gathered facts. Information, or realities are the same thing but they are not equal to the truth.
There is only one truth in the world and the source of this truth is God. Everything that humans know is not equivalent to God ( God is unlimited in every way and man is limited in every way. Man can know about God but can never claim to know all of God ).
All that humans know are facts, information or realities which are not the ultimate truth. So what one knows may not be true, since there is only one truth. The facts that one obtain from school, information, realities one may still not have the truth. All science and philosophy are based on facts, information, realities of things. It is just a weak human attempt of the explanation of things. We know facts through human reason and senses ( sight, smell, taste, feeling, and hearing ). We can master our subjects so well through process and experience but the most difficult thing to have is the truth. Why?
The Bible as the Source of wisdom in the world
What we come to know always stands against God’s truth. Sometimes we mistake the knowledge, the facts, the information and our experience as the truth. Truth is not determined by our senses or reason. Truth is given to us. Truth is not born inside us nor with us, it comes outside of us. This truth can only be gotten in the Bible John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
What is Wisdom?
Wisdom is making the best use of knowledge or facts without any mistakes. It is the ability to make facts and knowledge to agree with truth. This wisdom is not born with man. God is the source of wisdom. Only God has the wisdom. God is wise. God grants or gives wisdom to man (this who fear Him). Man can only be wise when God helps him to. All humans have been warned not to become wise in their own eyes Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
True wisdom comes only from God James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Only those who fear God have true wisdom and knowledge. ( Job 28 : 28; Psalms 111 : 10). Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Wisdom is expressed in Godly living ( Proverbs 2: 1 – 12 ). Wisdom includes the sense of understanding, insight, judgment, discernment.
The Choice as set Before man
God set before man life and death ( Genesis 1 – 3 )
God placed before mankind two ways wisdom and folly ( Proverbs) God’s best gift to man is Wisdom ( Proverbs 3 : 13 – 20 ; 8:1-9:12 )
The world is founded by wisdom and wisdom is the source of riches and possessions. wisdom is the source of life.
Fear God, walk in His ways, get wisdom and live the best of life.
Note: Knowledge without wisdom is dangerous and wisdom without knowledge is limited.
